Poople

What is Poople?

This repeatable Poople adaptation is based on the original daily game at poople.io. It gives you a random four-letter starting word and one fixed destination: POOP. You enter another real four-letter word that changes exactly one position, then repeat until the ladder reaches the target. Each accepted entry stays visible as a rung, so you can see the route you have built. On finishing, the result compares your number of guesses with the shortest possible path, called par. A checked embedded run showed both counts in the completion dialog and offered a new puzzle; the next round opened with a different starting word. Its runs do not change the daily stats on the embedded version's site.

Poople Rules

• Start from the random four-letter word shown above the board; the destination is always POOP.
• Every submitted word must be in Poople's dictionary and differ from the previous rung by exactly one letter.
• Enter a four-letter candidate using your keyboard or the on-screen keys, then submit it with Enter.
• The result compares the number of guesses used with par, the shortest valid path from that start.
• After finishing, choose New puzzle to start another random ladder. Runs do not count toward daily streaks on this version's site.

Rule-based illustration: if a ladder has a par of 5 moves and you reach POOP in 6, your result is 1 over par. This is a scoring example, not the answer to a current puzzle.

How to Play Poople

1. Read the starting word

• You'll see: A random four-letter word appears above four letter tiles.
• You do: Compare its letters with POOP and consider a valid one-letter change.
• The game gives: The starting word remains on the board as the first rung.
• What you learn: You must connect the start to the fixed target through real words, not guess a hidden word.

2. Submit the next rung

• You'll see: The letter tiles and the on-screen keyboard are ready for a four-letter entry.
• You do: Type a real four-letter word that changes one position, then press Enter.
• The game gives: An accepted word is added beneath the previous rung; an invalid entry is not added.
• What you learn: Each move must satisfy both the dictionary and one-letter rules.

3. Continue toward POOP

• You'll see: Your accepted words form a visible ladder.
• You do: Use the latest accepted word as the starting point for the next change.
• The game gives: The board grows one rung at a time until you submit POOP.
• What you learn: A legal move can still lengthen the path, so keep the final approach in mind.

4. Compare and replay

• You'll see: A result dialog shows your guesses and the best possible count.
• You do: Read the comparison, then select New puzzle if you want another round.
• The game gives: The finished ladder is replaced by a new random starting word.
• What you learn: Unlimited refers to repeatable puzzles; each individual ladder still has a finish.

Poople Strategy & Tips

• Work backward from POOP. Words one letter away, such as POOL or COOP, give you a concrete final rung to aim for.
• Change a vowel when your current word offers few useful neighbors; a different vowel may open more valid one-letter choices.
• Check that every planned bridge is a word the game accepts. A visually closer spelling does not help if it cannot connect to the next rung.
• Compare your completed move count with par before starting a new puzzle. If you went over, look for a shorter bridge between the same start and target.
